Adoption Process
To begin the adoption process, interested individuals or families are required to fill out our comprehensive Adoption Application Form. This form is available via out RightPaw page. This helps us understand your preferences, living situation, and what you're looking for in a Sheepadoodle puppy. It also allows us to ensure that our puppies are placed in loving and suitable homes.
Review and Approval: Once we receive your Adoption Application Form, we will carefully review it. We may reach out to you for additional information or to clarify any details. This step helps us match the right puppy to the right home, ensuring a happy and harmonious companionship.
Deposit: After your application is approved, you will be required to place a deposit to secure your place on the waiting list for one of our puppies. The deposit is a commitment that you are ready to welcome a furry family member into your home. This $250 deposit is non-refundable but will be applied to the total adoption fee. Should your situation change or you don't find the pup of your dreams you are most definitely able to transfer your deposit to a future litter.
Waiting List and Notification: Our waiting list operates on a first-come, first-served basis. As litters become available, we will notify individuals on the waiting list in the order in which they placed their deposits. You will receive notification when a litter that matches your preferences becomes available.
A Promise To Our Puppies: As a promise to our puppies and the dedication we have to ensure all our pups are forever happy, we have all the new families of all our pups sign a contract. This contract asks them to agree that in the event that they can no longer keep the pup that the pup is returned to us. Doesn't matter if the pup is 20 months or 20 years old. Owning a dog is a 15 year committment and we are here as a back up. We are always home to every single pup we have bred. Once home again they will either live there days with us or if we find the absolute perfect family and they will be rehomed. No puppy will ever be in a shelter or on a street. If the dog is interstate we will pay to have them returned home. If you don't agree then you wont be allowed to adopt one of our furry family.
We also do not allow our pups to be bred from. We take breeding very seriously. We go above and beyond what we need to do. We are yet to find a breeder with standards higher than our own. We don't see our dogs as "breeding" dogs they are our pets, our best friends. We honestly believe our dogs live a better life than most family pets. They sleep in our beds, they have a bedroom in our home. They lay with us and watch TV on our lounges with us in front of the fire. They get groomed every 6 weeks sometimes more. They eat only premium food and if you ask my husband they eat better than he does. They live on 54 acres surrounded by cattle, cats, alpaca, goats, horses and most of all love ❤. They run across the acres and play in the dam. We don't have a single cage on the property and your welcome to come and see that this is all truth.
We do every test available to ensure you get the best pup possible. No expense is spared so that we can feel with 100% belief that there is nothing at all more we could do to give your pup a long and beautiful life. This does not mean that life can't throw in a curve ball and cause your pup to have an unexpected issue. If this happens we will be here to help support you through it but we won't be held accountable when we have done all we possibly can.
Your commitment not only means you will love the dog for 15 years but that you commit to providing the care a dog may need during that time. There is absolutely no guarantee that your pup won't suffer an illness or disability along the way. Buying from a quality breeder absolutely lowers the risk but does not guarantee a 100% healthy dog it's entire life. We can't do this with humans so it's certainly not yet possible for our dogs.
It's just not possible for a breeder to prevent or foresee every single possible cause of disease or disability. Some issues are known to be genetic and where possible we will test and will not breed from an at risk dog. An example of this is hip displaysia, this is one of those awful conditions that we can test for genetically, but it can also appear in a genetically low risk dog when caused by environment, including incorrect feeding and over excersing. It is also one of those issues that can appear even when your doing everything right.
Once the pup leaves our hands at 8 weeks you as a family are responsible for the pups care. You have direct influence over how they mature and develop. We can help guide you to what we believe you need to do to have the best outcome you need to do your research and speak to your vet.
The decision to take on a pup is a big one, don't take it lightly. Do your research. Understand there could be financial pressure if something were to go wrong. Have a long look at what the future may hold as your fur baby expects to be part if your life forever.
Know that not only are you choosing us as breeders but we are choosing you as a family. A life long guardian to the beautiful pups we help into this world. We try to choose people we believe are up for all of it, the highs the lows and everything in between. We do turn people away but when we choose you know it is an honor, please know we are trusting you to do right by the pup and to continue to provide the very best for them in every way. Please know that the very best option for them if you can no longer keep them is to come home too us. No one loves them more than we do.
Puppy Selection: Once notified, you will have the opportunity to select a puppy from the available litter. We encourage prospective owners to visit and interact with the puppies, helping you to choose the one that best matches your family's personality and needs. Finding the absolute best homes for our pups is priority. If a pup has particular needs we may exclude a pup from your choice.
Final Adoption Agreement: After you've selected your puppy, we will provide you with a Final Adoption Agreement/Contract. This agreement outlines the terms and conditions of the adoption, including the adoption fee, spaying/neutering requirements, and our commitment to the puppy's health.
Bringing Your Puppy Home: Upon signing the Final Adoption Agreement and paying the adoption fee, you will be able to bring your new puppy home at 8 weeks of age. We provide guidance on puppy care, training, and adjusting to your new family member to ensure a smooth transition.
Our aim is to make the adoption process as seamless and enjoyable as possible, and we are always available for support and guidance throughout your journey with your Serendipidoodle puppy.
Transport options: We are able to help you organise puppy transport for our interstate and local buyers who are unable to travel or are too far away for this to be viable. We only allow air transportation for pups if we believe the road travel is too long. Air transportation is faster and less stress for your new furry family member. There are also road transportation options for the shorter trips.
